All, I was fortunate enough to convince "James Dicks" author of two books; "Operation Financial Freedom" and "How to Buy & Sell Real Estate for Financial Freedom" to fly from Orlando to be a guest speaker at our Cmdr's/SgtsMaj Conference. James Dicks also publishes his own monthly Investment Magazine titled "James Dicks Magazine". He is a former Marine (enlisted) and multi-millionaire. He has traveled to the Middle East in support of our troops. He has also been a guest speaker at the SMMC Symposium for the last couple of years. He is not selling any products or endorsing anyone -He just wants to give back to the Marine Corps with his knowledge in the financial/investment arena. Aside from the conference, where he will attend the social and also speak to all the SgtsMaj for about 1 hour, I have also scheduled him to speak with our Officers and SNCOs. James Dicks will also make himself available after each brief to answer individual questions, etc., James, the flag and the coins were only but a small token of our gratitude for your unselfish devotion to the Marine Corps and for honoring us with your presence and enriching all of us with more knowledge regarding investments, etc., Thanks again, SgtMaj. E. James, First, thank you for the How to Buy and Sell Real Estate for Financial Freedom. It was an honor to meet you and I will host my annual senior CSM conference in January 2008, would/could be able to talk to about 250 attendees? I have had the opportunity to meet and know many people over the years. You are a very special person in what you do for fellow Marines and Soldiers. I cannot say enough of how thankful I am for what you do and continue to offer for our warriors. This is a tough time for those who serve and your prior service and generosity sends a message that lets everyone know you and America care. Thank you. v/r Ken Preston 13th SgtMaj of the Army When you spoke to my unit (hmm-t 164) about 1 month ago, you motivated me to focus on exploring the avenues available to me through creative financing and investing. I have recently bought a house near Camp Pendleton, (the base I'm stationed at) in Temecula. I have already employed your tactics for making principal payments only in addition to the normal payment. Thank you for you Military support! SSgt SC USMC 6112 Mr. Dicks, Good morning Devil Dog. This is Corporal S from HMM(T)-164 , MAG-39. I attended your financial class last week. It highly motivated me! I've been saving money ever since I could remember. Right now I have about 13k in a fifth third mutual fund and 4k in their IRA. I've barely cleared 10% this past year, and I would like to get the 20% of which was your set desire. I'm looking at houses in Temecula, CA right now. I'll be a sergeant soon and BAH would cover a modest mortgage. Thank you for your class. It opened my mind to more that I can do with my money and it was assuring that I'm not the only person who saves and wants to retire! Semper FI, Corporal SJ Dear James, I wanted to thank you for all you are doing for our Military Personnel here and abroad, as well as doing the article on “Operation Shoe Box” in your magazine. May God richly bless you. Sincerely, Barbara Autry (Operation Shoe Box Coordinator) Good Day Mr. Dicks, I can't thank you enough for the training that awoke many of our Marines eyes to a better financial future, to include my own. My Marines that missed your presentation are going to get the presentation through the PowerPoint presentation, Thank you for taking the time out of your schedule and sharing your new profession and lifes lessons with us. Take good care and hope to see you again. MSgt Avionic Chief KG HMMT-164 MCAS Cmap Pendleton Good afternoon Mr. Dicks, I wanted to take the time to thank you for your outstanding presentation, it really open my eyes to see what I can do to reach financial freedom. Thank you so much again for taking care of us. Semper Fi GYSGT ER USMC HMM(T)-164 MAINT. I just attended your speech in Camp Pendleton and I learned a lot of great information from you. I am interested in investing. I have dabbled a bit stocks and some Mutual Funds before but as most lost focus. Talking to you today has given me momentum again, which I really need being that I turn 34 this month, and I am a single dad and severally lack a stable financial future. I also look forward to reading your book and hope I can speak with you more in the future as I gain more knowledge. Semper Fi, GySgt B G.E. HMM(T)-164, QA Chief Greetings James, Just wanted to send you a quick note to say 'Thanks' again for the book. I am loving it and taking in all the info you’re depositing into my life. I really enjoy the exercises. They are expanding my mind and forcing me to put my future and financial freedom into a reality. I really like how you said, on page 9...With wealth comes responsibility. That's a mouth full. That reminds me, of the scripture that says; to whom much is given much is required. I had to meditate on that. You made a very valuable point, in justifying how your goals and values need to agree. I had never looked at life, and finances like that. Somehow I always lived my life like that, but could never put it into words. In saying that, I mean as far as positions I would take and companies I worked for. They all had to give me meaning or stand for a cause. I could not just take a position for a company because it was paying me more money but had no values. So, thanks for putting that into words for me that I will take to heart. It's nice to meet a real person who has walked out my path and is willing to invest in me as I travel this road to Financial Freedom. It was a pleasure meeting you at the front gate at the Coast Guard Headquarters building. Your book is changing my mindset as we speak. Have a great week and any tips or golden nuggets you can pass along, I'd great appreciate it. Sincerely, Kimberly M Good afternoon, Mr. Dicks, My name is Sergeant Major RB. I had the privilege of hearing you speak to all of the Sergeants Major in the 3d Marine Air Wing in August in La Jolla, CA. You had some great insight that you shared with us and you were even gracious enough to give each of us one of your books along with an issue of your magazine. I would like to thank you for taking the time from your busy schedule to speak to us, and for your overall generosity for military members. Again, thank you for being the man you are, and not forgetting where you came from. SEMPER FI!! SgtMaj RB Marine Attack Squadron 513 MCAS, Yuma, AZ "The Nightmares" Dear Mr. Dicks, Greetings from Miramar! Just wanted to pass a personal "thank you" for the recent talk you gave to the Staff Noncommissioned Officers of the Third Marine Air Wing (17 August 2007). The "quick" brief was "spot on" (or, if I could add a witty criticism - not long enough on a needed topic of discussion). Your altruism to your Corps is noteworthy and worthy of emulation! You are a role model who continues to demonstrate your fidelity to our Corps. Further, thank you for the copy of your book. I have devoured the contents and spend many a moment educating (or attempting to educate), my junior Marines. If only I had this knowledge a few years back - the power of "72" would be my war cry! I hope this finds you well. Again, thank you for all you do for your Corps. Semper Fi, Sergeant Major, USMC Squadron Sergeant Major, HMM-165 3d Marine Air Wing Mr. Dicks, I was fascinated with the seminar you provided at Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar and appreciative of your taking the time to speak to the Marines on the base. I have always been interested in establishing financial security and increasing wealth. Thanks again for the motivating seminar and instruction. Capt SR Commanding Officer Bravo Company, MWCS-38 James, I wanted to drop you a line and thank you and your team for the book. I just started reading Financial Freedom last night and look forward to getting into it. Once again thanks for supporting those of us in uniform. LtCol W. DC 3d MAW DOSS Mr. James Dicks, First off, I would like to thank you for serving. Few know what it is to be a Marine, or even to serve for a greater purpose. You know. It is absolutely apparent through your unparallel desire to excel and your passion to give back to where you came from. Most Marines do not have the time nor the knowledge available to them to get 'up to speed' about financial matters, and you know that. Secondly, I would like to thank you for spending time out of your day to educate our Marines about the finer points of financial security. Those in your class now have a better idea of how to better take care of their finances, thus improving their status financially for both themselves and their families. You're selfless devotion to help your fellow Marines speaks volumes about your character and we hope to see you come back to Camp Pendleton again. Thank you for all that you do and God Bless you!! Semper Fi, SSgt SR Good afternoon Mr. Dicks, I wanted to take the time to thank you for your outstanding presentation, it really open my eyes to see what I can do to reach financial freedom. Thank you so much again for taking care of us. Semper Fi Hello James, This is SgtMaj J. First I'd like to thank you once again for giving us YOUR time at the Commander's Conference. What you taught us is invaluable. I/We really appreciated receiving the information that we received from you and will certainly share that with our Marines. Again, thanks a lot. Thanks so much once again, BK Mr. James Dicks, First would like to thank you for donating your time and giving back to the military. Have not had the opportunity to put in motion the one thing you taught me concerning stocks the way the market currently is, but it has got to be better than what I have done so far. Thanks again for the words of wisdom and some of your successes and failures. SSgt B. Hey James, Just wanted to drop you a quick thank you for taking the time to come and talk to us the other day. I wish you could have talked longer. Thanks again for passing the knowledge and giving back to your fellow Marines. Semper Fi! M. S. As I mentioned before, I thank you for coming out and giving us your presentation. There a lot of Marines that needs sound financial advice, me being one of them. Thanks again and Semper Fi. SSgt C. James I was unable to attended your financial counseling session on Thursday 16th August because I was at a medical transition class. After talking with some of my fellow Marines it sounds like I missed a great class. I was curious if you will be speaking at any other bases in the near future? I need all the financial advice I can get. I was also interested in the Software and was wondering if you could send it to me. Thank You GySgt. K. Mr. Dicks, My name is SSgt C. Sincerely, G.S. Mr. Dicks, First of all, thank you for taking the time to come out and speak to us. Unfortunately, I had an obligation that precluded me from listening to your speech.
